The WA Youth Services Directory (WAYSD) was introduced in 2008 as a biannually printed resource to help medical practitioners identify relevant services to refer their young patients.

The demand for the directory expanded well beyond medical practitioners – with youth services and schools regularly requesting the directory.

Acknowledging the limitations of a printed resource, and a desire to further increase impact, the AMA (WA) Foundation, in partnership with Youth Affairs Council WA (YACWA), have transitioned the directory to a contemporary, user-friendly website. The website not only provides comprehensive and current information on youth services, but also lists ‘Youth Friendly Doctors’ – medical practitioners who have completed workshops in youth specific health issues, another AMA (WA) Foundation initiative.

The new WAYSD supports the health and well-being of young people through a whole community approach, providing necessary information that will be used by medical practitioners, youth services, education, parents and guardians and young people.
